About

"Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way." Dr. Seuss

Let me start by giving you some background on my experience in teaching, and provide some insight as to the philosophy behind The Learning Den. I bring over 18 years experience as a teacher in early childhood education. I have been a full-time preschool and PreK teacher for over 18 years in the private sector, and I am certified to teach preschool through 6th grade in the State of Colorado. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Early Childhood Education.

As both a parent and an educator, I had said for years I wish there were more quality Early Childhood
Education programs available in an environment that is both educational and nurturing. An environment with a low child-to-teacher ratio that enables the teacher to truly focus on each child’s individual needs. As a trained early childhood educator, I knew this was an ideal situation for children in their early formative years. Yet, this scenario can be hard to find.

When the timing and situation were right, I realized I could offer a small group of families just what I had searched for when my daughter was younger, and what I continue to hear parents searching for as their
children approach the preschool years. Thus The Learning Den came to be. A licensed, in-home preschool play-based program, with a low ratio, run by a certified teacher, to help foster not only the social/emotional piece—but provide the academic foundation needed for entering today’s demanding school systems.

Sincerely,
Miss Kristi
